Hattie B’s, wildly popular Nashville hot chicken spot, hints at Houston expansion
One of the biggest names in Nashville-style hot chicken may be scouting locations in Texas, including Houston. As Eater Austin reported yesterday, Hattie B’s, popular purveyor of Music City’s crispy, craggy, fiery fried chicken, formed a Texas-specific LLC earlier this month in Dallas. A rep for Hattie’s confirmed that the family-run chain was considering locations in Houston, Austin and Dallas. If Hattie’s does come to Houston, it’ll join MIco’s, Main Chick, Rosalyn’s and others slinging the spicy hot dish.
Goode Bird pops up in The Woodlands this weekend
Goode Bird, the fried chicken ghost restaurant operating out of Goode Co. Armadillo Palace, will host a Woodlands pop-up this weekend at Goode Co. BBQ, 8865 Six Pines Drive. The takeout-only concept has been a big success since launching in July, frequently selling out not just fried chicken, but other Southern dishes like golden buttered biscuits and deviled eggs. The Woodlands pop-up will be open Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30 from noon to 8 pm. Orders must be placed in advance through the Toast app.
Urban Bird teases September opening in Katy
The Katy opening of Urban Bird, yet another Nashville hot chicken spot, is imminent. On Facebook, the restaurant teased a target opening date of the first week in September. It will be located at 21788 Katy Freeway, Suite 500. In addition to hot chicken, the restaurant will also serve waffles, crinkle-cut fries, crispy sweet potato waffle fries and mac and cheese on the side.
