The Sporting Club will officially make its debut this week
The Sporting Club, a sprawling new open-air restaurant with chic cocktails and late-night pizza, will soon open its doors on Washington Avenue.
The restaurant is set to make its debut at 5102 Washington Avenue on Thursday, October 22. According to a press release, the Sporting Club boasts a massive 8,000 square foot space, complete with a retractable roof and garage-style doors that allow for open-air dining. That’s especially good news for those who are looking to dine out right now, and still have concerns about indoor dining with the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to rage on.
There’s also a large outdoor patio at the restaurant, complete with an bright yellow Airstream trailer that’s been transformed into an Instagram-worthy cocktail bar slinging frozen cocktails and Champagne.
Chef EJ Miller, formerly of spots like International Smoke and Down House, will oversee the kitchen at the Sporting Club. Expect a breezy menu of dishes like lobster rolls loaded with Maine lobster, pizzas topped with smoked meats from Feges BBQ, and steak frites. Brunch will also be on offer, with dishes like chilaquiles and crab and avocado toast in the works.
The Sporting Club is the second bar this year to open on Washington Avenue from SoClutch Group. It joins the Sugar Room, which made its debut in January, complete with a bakery called Sweet out front that serves doughnuts, birthday cakes, and macarons during the day.
When it opens this week, the Sporting Club will operate from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m., Monday through Sunday.
